Our backyard extends beyond the area behind our house, it includes the places we frequent, the places we visit, the places where we live life. This blog is all about the things we find in our backyard and beyond.

Meizu MP3 Player

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketMy daughter is just in love with her new toy. She already had an MP3 player but she and her sister Asi upgraded this year. While Asi went for the iPod, Jade picked this and she says she hasn't regretted her choice. She's also gloating that the screen on her MP3 player is way bigger than her sister's. Read her review on our finds.

Loving PayPerPost

Loving youuuuuu! It's easy 'cause you PayPerPost.... :D Yeah, I'm loving getting paid to blog right now and it all started with PayPerPost, one of the best pro blogging sites around. I haven't done this paid blogging gig for long. Some of the people at PayPerPost have earned thousands in cash and prizes since they started posting for payperpost! Well, I haven't gotten to that point yet, but I have high hopes.

As many of you know, I've tried several other paid post gigs, but I haven't found any that compares with payperpost (PPP). One, PPP opportunities, on average, pays at a highter rate than other companies, and there is always something there to write about. It doesn't ever dry out completely like some sites. The best thing about PPP that impressed me though is how they keep their posties (that's what us bloggers who publish paid reviews are called) honest and most importantly, they keep themselves honest and fair. It may seem like they have too many rules and regulations than others. That's true. But that also means that integrity of their reviews and their sponsors is important to them. They keep everyone honest, like I said.

Now, new things are in the works that is supposed to make being a PPP postie even more exciting than ever. We are all awaiting this new development which is supposed to be unveiled in the great Postie Con in Las Vegas next month. I wished I had already earned enough money to go, but alas, not yet.

But like I said, I have high hopes. Already, my earnings from PPP has allowed me and the girls a little bit more extras sooner ;) no more waiting until the expense fits into the budget, we have PPP money in the bank! Woohoo! Seriously though, if you are willing to put out some effort and a little bit of research, you can make some real money at PPP.

Santa bring me one of these plz

The girls had individual laptops on their Christmas list for the past several years and Santa hadn't seen fit to grant their wishes yet. Trying to keep Santa's options open, we've even visited France (well, ok virtually only) to check out their mini pc portable which is how they refer to laptops over yonder.

Whether you look at the site in English or French (might as well brush up that two years worth of French classes you took in school), the deals remain the same. For Dell computers, they are great in any language! Depending on the features you are looking for in your notebook, they have various models in different price ranges that will fit your need. If like mine, your kids are into online games and such, you may consider looking for one with higher memory and more storage space. While you may be tempted to go for the starter model, you will find that you outgrow those really fast. I would pick one that does slightly more than what I need right now so that you have some room to grow and you won't need to buy another laptop in a year's time.

Now there is the shopWiki!

Sometimes it seems our house is in a constant state of flux. My husband is always renovating something, fixing up something or replacing something. I guess this is just how it is with old houses. The work never ends. I wouldn't trade having an old house though, they have so much character.

The thing I would trade in a heartbeat is old furniture and appliances. Lately, everything seems to be experiencing some sort of malfunction or another so while he spends his time fixing them up, I spend my time online looking for replacements. I found several sites that sell things for your home and garden. I love places that have everything you need in one place! Whether it be accessories or appliances, or gardening implements, it's just nice to see them all in one place.

Right now, what we need most is a new washing machine. Our fifteen year old machine is finally dying on us. Now there was a time when you can just choose the first washing machine that you can afford and be done with it. Now there are so many models and manufacturers to choose from, it can be baffling. Personally, I still like the affordability metric but of course when you start talking features, my husband's ears perk up. You'd think he'd be flying to the moon on this washing machine with all the bells and whistles he'd like to see on one. It's a good thing ShopWiki gives you not only a variety of options but also provides helpful guidelines on what to look for when shopping for a washing machine. Once you've decided, they can also tell you where the particular model you decide on is available. Just move your pointer over the product and a bubble will pop up with names of stores that carry the particular item. Pretty neat, I though!

Now don't think all they have on ShopWiki is appliances. You've got to go and check out the variety of products available, from electronics to pets, you name it.

Get Smorty, smarty!!

Another cool momma who's also hip turned me on to Smorty. What's smorty you ask? Smorty is another place where you can blog for money. Most people I know have already been blogging for at least a couple of years, so it's about time we started earning some money from this hobby, right? I guess what most of us didn't realize early on is that someone is actually willing to pay for our opinion. Early on, we just thought we were talking to ourselves! LOL!! We didn't realize someone was actually paying attention, huh? Now we know that businesses are actually willing to pay to advertise on blogs. And we've been advertising for free, all this time!

Well, I just found out about Smorty this morning, and look at me! I'm already blogging for smorty! They approved my blog the same day I submitted it, and a few hours later, here I am already blogging for dollars! I can't wait to see how regular their jobs are. I'm excited to see if this is going to be as successfull as the other paid blogging sites.
