Birthday Greetings on the Fence

I think it is so sweet how the kids at my girls' high school are allowed to hang birthday banners for their friends on the school fence. This section of the fence is right where you drive up to the school so the celebrant can immediately see the greetings when they arrive.

This is a banner for my oldest daughter when she turned 16 last month. Her birthday was on a Saturday but they had the banner up by Wednesday and it stayed up for a couple of days. We went on Saturday afternoon to get it off the fence so she can keep it as a souvenir. We were there just in time as, you can see from the dark skies, it soon started pouring rain!

I am trying to revive my photo blog, but with my garden looking so brown right now, I just haven't had much time to take any photos. I am posting some photos that I took right when the fall colors were at their height, so if you want to visit, just click here.

Don't Forget NaBloPoMo

Hey, it's almost November and you know what that means, it's time for NaBloPoMo! November not only National Alzheimer's Awareness Month, it is also National Blog Posting Month. NaBloPoMo for short. It is a month where you get to blog everyday for the whole month of November. I did it last year, and it was hard, but it was actually a lot of fun too. So if you are interested, hurry and go sign up. It's almost ready to start! Just in time tow work out all the sugar rush you'll get on Halloween :).

And for National Alzheimer's Awareness Month, November 13th is National Memory Screening Day. If you know anyone who should be screened, please pass the information on.

Thank God it's Friday!

Am I glad it's Friday! It's been a busy week. Next week is not only Halloween, it is also one of the biggest industry show that my company attends every year so I have been busy getting things together for that. On top of it, my husband and I are in the middle of refinancing our house, so I've been going back and forth with the lady who is handling our accounts. It can bs a little frustrating as I don't really like having anyone looking too closely at my accounts. I hate getting a loan! I always feel like I'm begging.

Howwell, it's Friday. But wait! I'm going to have a housefull of girls this weekend!! grrr!

The NC State Fair

My daughter is a girl who loves the fair. I supposed it's inevitable that she would. October is her month. She was born in October, and before she came to this world, she was already going to the state fair. The NC State Fair is one of the biggest events in our city and breaks attendance records almost every year. This year especially, when the weather stayed mild and sunny all week, attendance records peaked. I'm glad we went in the middle of the week, early in the morning when they opened and were getting out of there before the night time crowds started pouring in. If you don't relish standing in long lines and jostling crowds of people, then early morning during the week is the best time to go.

Just stuff...

It really does seem my homes, online and real life have been talking about loans lately. Student loans, mortgage loans, you name it, it seems that our conversations lately have been peppered with money related issues. Even something as inane as a visit to the dentist becomes a financial discusssion! Read more about my rants at the house.

Speaking of which, I'm so glad we have one more appointment at the dentist next week for some sealants, then we're done! Well, at least for this year anyway. It starts all over again in 6 months. Oh fun!
