Lonely Purple

This lone purple plant is the only one of its kind in our garden. The others just didn’t do so well and died out. This is the only survivor and it looks like he’s staying put. At least for the meantime anyway. Now you know I'm not good at remembering plant names, so I can't really tell what this plant is called. Please tell me if you know. Its petals are velvety and it grows really low on the ground. Know what it is?
